The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) andyhe league’s official sponsor, TNM plc have said they will switch to a 100 percent electronic ticketing for all TNM Super League matches starting next month.
After testing a hybrid system that allowed both cash and mobile payments the league moves to full mobile payment, requiring fans to use the TNM Mpamba to purchase e-tickets.
SULOM’s Marketing and Commercialization Sub-Committee Chairperson, Chimwemwe Nyirenda, said that this move is to align the league with the global digital transformation of sports, making ticketing more efficient and secure.
“E-ticketing offers benefits like real-time attendance tracking, fraud prevention, and providing teams with instant revenue transfers. This is what we want as we continue to bring the game to great rights.” Said Nyirenda.
Christopher Sukasuka, General Manager for TNM Mpamba at TNM plc said that this is part of the controls e-ticketing offers for fans and teams alike, ensuring proper revenue collection.
“Fans who haven’t yet obtained a TNM Mpamba card are encouraged to do so before the November 30 deadline. Aside ticketing, TNM Mpamba card can also be used for ATM withdrawals, and POS payments.” Sukasuka said.
