Police in Kanengo, Lilongwe have arrested a 21-year-old suspect, Norman Maluwa, for allegedly killing a 32-year-old woman, Tamandani Lazaro.
Kanengo public relations officer, Gracium Ngwira said this in a media statement on the matter.
He said, “Prior to the ordeal, Lazaro was staying alone in Area 25 B and on 28 February, 2025, she went missing only for her body to be found on 5 March wrapped in a sack”.
“Following investigations and working on intelligence, police arrested the suspect at Kasiya, his home village where he was hiding. Maluwa has since been found with assorted clothes, kitchen utensils and other items belonging to Lazaro”. Said Ngwira
Maluwa is expected to appear in court soon to answer murder charges but further investigations continue to arrest his accomplices.
Maluwa hails from Kabanga Village, Traditional Authority M’bang’ombe in Lilongwe while the deceased hailed from Ng’ona Village, Traditional Authority Mduwa in Mchinji.
