FCB Nyasa Big Bullets mentor Calisto Pasuwa has been appointed as interim coach for the Malawi senior football team, the Flames.
Pasuwa has replaced Patrick Mabedi who was relieved of his duties last week.
The technical sub committee of Fam has also recommended silver strikers coach Peter Mponda to deputize Pasuwa while Moyale Barracks coach Prechard Mwansa will be third in command.
FAM has also named Veterans, Kinnah Phiri and Young Chimodzi as Technical advisors of the new technical pannel.
This has been revealed in a statement which explains that the Committee resolved to ratify the decision of the FAM Emergency Committee terminating the contract of Mabedi in line with provisions of Article 46 of FAM Statutes (2019).
Reads the statement in part:,”The Committee resolved to approve the recommendation to appoint an Interim Technical Panel comprising of Calisto Pasuwa as Head of Technical Panel Peter Mponda as First Assistant Coach Prechard Mwansa as Second Assistant Coach Kinnah Phiri and Young Chimodzi as Technical Advisors”
The Committee resolved to appoint the Interim Technical Panel with immediate effect considering the upcoming engagements of the Flames.
FAM has also recommended the commencement of immediate recruitment of the Senior Men’s National Football Coach as they are to engage the Malawi National Sports Council on the matter.
But Silver strikers has said it will not allow their coach to go for the the Flames job.
Silver strikers Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba said they were not consulted and they have only seen the announcement.
